Steigereiland is a nice, peaceful and child-friendly area at a short distance from the city center of Amsterdam. You are in a wide area with a beautiful view of the water. To find the hustle and bustle of the center of Amsterdam, you are within 15/20 minutes in the Oost district or the Pijp.
Some shops, restaurants, public transportation, schools, day-cares, sports facilities and a large park with a city beach are within walking distance. The highway and train station are easily and quickly accessible.
